and your bird can sing [open]
Jul. 6th, 2014 12:49 pmAmelie had felt awful leaving Fabrice alone in that hotel room, but she knows that Moira will look after him, and she can't bring herself to stay any longer. It's agony to look at him and know what he knows, what apparently everyone but her knew.
Instead, she packs a small bag and heads to St Bernadette's. She'd managed to convince the principal to let her stay in one of the boarding rooms for now, just until she can find somewhere else to go. She can't bear the thought of living in the Coombs house right now.
She still hasn't told Aoife or Moira what she knows, though she supposes Moira will guess fairly quickly. She feels horrible keeping it from Aoife, but the idea of speaking it aloud and making it real is too much for herself, let alone her sister.
The room she finds herself in is bare enough, most of the students around Siren Cove live at home and they don't have a lot of boarders, leaving her mostly alone in the building. She's struck, sudddenly, by how very alone she feels, and she finds herself cradling the locket her father gave her in her hands.
